Introduction to Swedish Massage
Treat yourself to a day of touch!
PTSM is proud to offer Intro to Swedish Massage of the Back for those who might be considering a career in Massage Therapy, or those simply interested in learning basic skills to practice on family and friends.
No massage or bodywork experience is necessary.
You'll learn the six basic strokes of Swedish massage, then have the opportunity to give and receive a relaxing massage. With a playful, fun approach, we will present fundamental elements of bodywork, physiology, breath awareness, grounding, quality of touch, and stress reduction.
If you are considering a career in Massage Therapy, this is a great time to get acquainted with our style of instruction, ask questions about classes and curriculum, tour the school and meet our staff. This class is required for those interested in applying for the Professional Licensing Program.
Participants are required to bring two twin-size flat sheets (including pillowcase), a blanket, and a queen-size pillow or bolster. Massage oil, lotion, and all other equipment and supplies will be provided. Please wear loose, layered clothing and trim your fingernails before attending. A one hour lunch break is provided to visit a local restaurant or stay and talk with fellow students over a sack lunch. Classes are held on select Saturday’s from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost for the class is $35.
